Eternity hadn’t changed much over the years; the occupants on the other hand, had grown in numbers, much to the annoyance of a certain Matriarch. Most were too distracted to notice the Asari in her richly dressed clothing as she slowly made her way to the bar. But to the ones who did notice, saw the former shell of a very well respected and highly envied woman. The heels were starting to hurt her feet, but the asari kept her pain well hidden, her height was an added bonus to her idea. Matriarch or not, she couldn’t help hearing all the buzzing from the mortals around her, a sly smile crossed her face at a group of men at the bar, who had been watching her the moment she stepped into the bar. Their voices showed how drunk they were, and she stopped at the bar. The group of men were trying to get her attention, by reaching over to grab at her, but she smiled softly and turned her attention to the bartender.
Leaning over the counter, Benezia indicated the a particular drink on the menu and told the bartender to ‘put it on her tab for the evening.’ As this was such a usual occurrence nothing else needed to be said as the Asari carried two drinks over to a recently empty lounge. Placing one down, Benezia took a long sip of her own, allowing the taste to explore her mouth. She sighed softly, tapping her foot against the table. Her informant was supposed to arrive, to give her everything that she had inquired about. But something didn’t feel right as she sat waiting. If she couldn’t control a situation, Benezia would go on edge, expecting the worst. As the minuets licked by, the drinks getting stronger, her doubts started to melt away.
A soft murmur whispered inside her mind, reminding her of the purpose of this visit; information and not leisure. Sovereign’s power wasn’t that strong yet, Benezia hadn’t spent enough time on that ship for it to affect her, but it had been enough for her to hear the voice, the questions and accusations that came freely with her new alliance. Benezia wasn’t that worried about Sovereign, her attention was more focused on Saren, who was an immediate and very real threat, who could throw her in the wind the moment she said anything he didn’t want to hear. Shaking herself from the negativity which was running the mood of the drink, Benezia sighed again as she stared around the room. There had to be someone interesting in this bunch, surely.
She smirked slightly, this was her first shore leave in quite a few months, and she wasn’t supposed to have fun…

damarais irum-medera Sometimes being one of the senior employees at Binary Helix was a huge pain. She'd been in charge of some PR and ambassadorial stuff before, but she had left that position for a reason. At the end of the day she was a scientist, and very little else. Damarais socialized only when it was absolutely necessary, and hated having to deal with people who couldn't understand the complexity of her work, or those many people who mistakened her for a lecherous asari maiden just trying to find someone to bring home that night. At times, Damarais really hated being an asari, but she always reminded herself that the elongated lifespan was probably worth the hassle.
But now she was dealing with other problems. The asari scientist had been recently sent away from her station on Noveria in order to visit Binary Helix's facility at Nos Astra in order to find some new researchers for the special little project going on there. Noveria was a scientist's paradise. Even if it lacked the sunshine, tropical setting, and breathtaking views that were usually associated with a paradise-like area, there were no restrictions, no regulations... the scientific possibilities were endless, and there was no need to worry about violating some genetic engineering law that was strictly enforced in Council space.
Well, she'd already gotten a brief glimpse of the employees she had to choose from. All skilled in fields that would help immensely with their rachni breeding project, though she did want to know more about what went on outside the lab. As much as it other peoples' personal lives did not tend to interest her, she wanted to make sure they weren't going to be a bunch of troublemakers who synthesized alcohol from lab materials or did other stupid things of the like. Separate the party animals from the devoted researchers... that was her plan, and that was why she had come to the Eternity Bar, of all places. Damarais never liked bars... they were too full of the intoxicated and those with crazy sex drives. Ugh.
She stood up against the wall with a glass of water in her hand, occasionally taking sips from it as she watched the employees from a distance. She didn't like what alcohol did to people's heads, so she rarely drank it, if ever. But for now, she wanted to blend in with the crowd, so she held the drink in her hand, just keeping an eye on the crowd. One person in particular stood out, however - an asari woman wearing regal attire, walking with an air of power and confidence. She seemed so familiar... yet not. Damarais thought on the matter for a few moments and then realized she did in fact know who this was, but not on a personal level. It was an investor, and the one who had given them the task of raising all the rachni back on Noveria. Matriarch Benezia. What was she doing here?
Damarais shot a glance over at the group of employees, making sure to check on their behavior one last time before approaching the Matriarch. Like any other asari, she revered the respected leader for her wisdom, and wouldn't dare berate her for going to the bar, attracting the attention of all of the men with her outfit, or for ordering the drink that she did. But she had to admit she was more than a little curious as to what Benezia was doing on Illium. "Matriarch Benezia?"
She asked as she approached the robed figure, "I'm Damarais Irum-Medera, scientist for Binary Helix. It's an honor to finally see you in person." Even if she hated socializing, Damarais had to admit, the chance to meet the Matriarch in person was one in a million, and she might as well get to know who she was working for. (( Sorry if I skipped all over the place. Brain is not working properly! XD ))[/blockquote][/blockquote]
